Focus on your strong point to help you become a better at basketball.Your best skills may not be center-stage every game, learning your strengths will help you become a better team player. Know the things you're great at and keep practicing until you have perfected them.

Learn how a proper bounce pass is thrown. A bounce pass that's good is going to end up hitting the receiving player near their waist. A useful tip is to have the ball bounce at about 3/4 of the distance to the receiving player is. There can be other factors in play to keep in mind, though.

A good way to practice sound passing is to drill without dribbling the ball. This is very hard to accomplish, making it much more difficult if you're standing in one spot and not dribbling.

Don't pump too much iron if you wish to become a jump shooter. Muscle is good, but it is actually possible to have excessive amounts for playing on the perimeter. Some shooting guards that play professionally have such big arms that their upper body to the point of harming their field goals.

Good footwork remains a shot when you are posting up. You must be certain to get the opposing playing to an open spot. Once you get into your position, secure your spot. These will both require solid footwork.

Never have your back to the ball so that you can always be prepared for anything in a basketball game. This keeps you aware of what is going on so you won't be surprised when turnover potentials come up or quick passes. Keep an eye open for areas that are open.
