PlayStation is very serious about this initiative

The entire PlayStation Movie as well as TV Show on DevelopmentSony is creating a lot of PlayStation-related movies along with TV shows. In the past few decades, Sony has been revving up the recently established PlayStation Productions. The company's production team is currently working on around 7 known projects, many of which are well-beyond the initial stage of being simply a concept on a whiteboard.
Some of them have been shot, some are preparing to shoot and others are at the stage of scripting, you get the picture. In all likelihood, PlayStation is very serious about this initiative and this can't be said regarding a number of other studios looking to adapt video games.
PlayStation Productions released its first project in the last quarter of this year in the form of Uncharted, which has been a long time coming. Uncharted. Film adaptations of Naughty Dog's beloved game has been in the process for more than a decade, and it has been in discussion with numerous writers, directors and actors.
The final film ended having Tom Holland in the role of Nathan Drake and although the film didn't do well with critics, it brought in a healthy amount of cash at the box-office and could be a great basis for a sequel, so it's likely more live-action Nathan Drake adventures are on in the near future. A future Uncharted sequel isn't the all that Sony has planned however.
