There are 232 of them scattered across a huge world map that's varied enough to delight my 12-year-old self. Every one being a singular short story with outrageous plots and funny dialogue. Personal favorites include solving the mystery of the disappearing chicken on Draynor Manor and sneaking into the seemingly impenetrable Black Knights' Fortress on behalf of the opposing White Knights of Falador.
The only thing that is better than killing the dragon on Crandor as the most memorable and memorable feat a free-to-play player is able to accomplish. The quests can be unlocked more through becoming a paid player of RuneScape which I did. This also opens up an enormous portion of the map of the world along with a whole host of additional things that stood me away from the weak novice I'd so far been.
Of course, you can freely roam around and explore the vast deserts and plains or venture east into the gloomy vampyre-infested swamps of Morytania ideal playing the Bobby Pickett song 'Monster Mash' playing in the background. When you enter a new region on the first attempt unlocks the corresponding soundtrack(s) for that area. There are some captivating tunes. I remember having the Christmas version on repeat.
Alongside the adventure, the role-playing is the most multiplayer of all and boy was it great to have thousands of gamers to play or trade my skills against. RuneScape comes with friend lists and on-screen chat which has proved to my PS2-configured mind that gaming is a shared but also a personal experience.
PvP (player versus player) zones are abundant of them, from the surreal death drama of Duel Arena to the frenzied pandemonium in Castle Wars. If I want something more relaxing you can relax near the river in Lumbridge or at a market in town while watching the virtual world go through.But beyond that it is an exceptionally made idle game. Furthermore, its emphasis on allowing players to determine their own course through the game helps it differentiate itself from the multitude of games with no purpose that force players into increasing the amount indefinitely."
