The most significant flaw in RuneScape's gameplay

Due to alleged activity on his profile post-2006, the internet was abuzz with rumors that it was true that he was alive however, this was said to be the result of hackers temporarily getting access to his account that was locked. Whilst neither of those claims can be fully substantiated in the real world, this version of a ghost tale does illustrate another cool thing about MMORPGs and the fact that a plethora of legends may be created about players who actually play the game.
I'm unsure if the statue of The Old Nite still exists, but it stood near the southern edge of the Wilderness (or "Wildy," for short) It was a huge expanse of wasteland located in north that was frequented with beasts and player-killers. I've never gone to visit it. Stupid me.
The most significant flaw in RuneScape's gameplay, which might also be its biggest advantage, is one similar to the majority of game: its longevity. In between the exhilarating quests and intense PvP battles is the constant grind away at mundane chores like mining, fishing, or cooking to increase your level or gain credits to buy that new, naive item of armor, or helmet. Gotta make money somehow, right?
While these activities may be relaxing, it's time spent doing the same things over and again - time that could or might not be better spent playing through a couple of shorter but no less popular video games.Instead of being a single battle, RuneScape is a painstaking battle of attrition that's difficult and long, and doesn't ever truly end. But it is immensely rewarding if one is willing to devote the time to it, as I was. At least for a year or so.
I haven't played many MMORPGs since, to my never-ending loss and shame. Real-life cares multiply and I just cannot afford to allow them to lure me in. In all the games I've played they're among the most demanding, with endless levels to climb and items to acquire. Some have even died as a result of lengthy sessions of RuneScape's less popular but well-known sibling, World of Warcraft, which is what makes it one of the most terrifying games.
