Adding in the ability to find another player's equipment (as we've seen in some of the greatest Diablo 2 mods) when clicking on them would probably be welcomed by many men and women. Developers have been cautious to not mention cross-platform drama, though it doesn't seem to be ruled out entirely following launch. We do know cross-progression involving PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch will be contained, which means that you can leave off one stage and pick up again on another.
But what the game could really take advantage of is cross-platform drama, available as an option to toggle on or off. I have lots of friends with no PC who are considering Resurrected, and I would love to show them the ropes without having to purchase the game on games. I am sure there are lots of other people out there who would concur.And with Blizzard's experience in the sphere of pre-rendered cinematics going as far back as Diablo II that is letting the team to look at these assets and reimagine them together with 2021-era detail.
"There's this idea of symbology which may have been somewhat muddy in the first edition," Rod notes with regard to the CD-ROM style cinematics found in the original release. "Having the ability to come across the real textures, the artwork of exactly what that wall should look like, and exactly what the goal would have been when they could render it at a higher resolution -- would be fantastic."
"The sheer quantity of time it requires you to take a character to max level in D2," Rob Gallerani pauses, once the discussion shifts to Diablo II's mechanics and systems. "It's just a much longer tail to get to what you'd call the'end game'. And fairly quickly in that span matters like Identify Scrolls are not a thing because you have Deckard Cain and Stamina isn't actually something since you've gotten sufficient Vitality that you simply forget about it."
It's a seemingly simple matter, pointing to how Diablo II changes within the span of several hours with systems and mechanics that float or evolve in the background. During early playtests, where the group dove into Diablo II, the Stamina query could come up a couple of times when some began wondering why they were abruptly walking.
