Nothing you said is a devolution from NH but something thats been happening since the second match. After 3 matches that I dont believe its happening.

Seriously, why did they do away with this favor system with the villagers? You literally have no reason to talk to them.
I believe you want to be in a specific friendship level to receive favors.
You need to push past 3-4 of the exact same dull lines before they begin offering you exceptional conversation or activities. I played before realising.theyve literally run up to me several times and ask me to perform a job or had a thought bubble. Not certain why youre saying you want to"push past" 3-4 lines of dialogue to receive it, perhaps you need a greater friendship level.
Frankly over time the match went from like a 10/10 match to a 7/10 match to me, strictly due to how dreadful the pacing and UX was. At some stage I wished to earn lots of adjustments with my town but it was just so insanely tedious to anything at the game and it eventually caught up with me. I was tired of spending like 3 hours every evening doing basically'nothing' in the game simply because of how long it takes to do things.
