I'm pretty sure this was already known but people wanted a previous version of Runescape game.No they definitely said in the first OSRS poll that there was not a later complete backup accessible. Plus folks were enjoying content such as GWD (wasnt in OSRS on launch ), soul wars, and Fist of Guthix. I have a tough time believing that Runescape players wanted by reverting back all of the way to 2007 these eliminated. Before EOC, people were fed op with soulsplit and overloads, and there were calls for an server. EOC made the second so much larger. You are adding your recollection and private feelings. Game servers were being asked for by the large majority. August onwards undoubtedly means that they looked for copies going further back as 2006scape was the goal.
Does everything change? - Since, when EOC was released that the vast majority of the Runescape players didn't like it and they wanted RS2 ago, but Jagex lied and stated they did N'T have any copies saved apart from 2007 and that is why 07 scape premiered - However now they have confirmed that they do have more copies before EOC and are using some of the models for OSRS Soul Wars.Runescape game has been dead long before EoC, EoC was the thing that made Runescape game unplayable for many Runescape players. There is is no reason to wipe Runescape match and make a brand new one. Also, obtaining a 2012 backup doesn't mean it is functional enough to be made to a whole game. There's more that goes into it than jumping on 1 sentence in a blog post.
No dude. Nearly all at the time wanted 2006scape, partly on account of the influence if the server that was personal. Thats the community called it 2007scape. Jagex didnt have a 2006 backup and stated aug 2007 was. If jagex didnt back up pre eoc, it would have been dumb. People today figure out ways wipe their stats or to delete other accs in the database for instance. They'd surely have had the backup of rs2 from the preceding week.
Lied is a strong word. We are aware that Jagex employees have a history of not communicating or leaving notes as soon as they've left the business (probably down to Jagex at this stage ) and it's quite possible back ups were produced by people who had abandoned and were abandoned on a server unknown by the Jagex staff at the time. Besids that, there clearly wont be 2012-scape. OSRS and RS3 is a cash cow project and adding a new dev team to run a brand new product is a radical change which they wouldn't do unless Runescape match was going heavily into decline. Really we have to know how compatible 2012 code is with the current OSRS infrastructure, but only transferring models/animations would be a huge time store if they desired to reuse assets.
