OSRS player here. A RS3 Ironman was started by me and I got the hang out of it, to some extent. But were the first weeks overwhelming! I get RuneScape gold, if a game is as outdated as RuneScape is, an individual could anticipate that it is packed with content. Problem is, it seems like RuneScape wants you to learn/do EVERYTHING right at the start of your accounts. Having played since 2006, I'm quite knowledgeable about the general gameplay and setting of it. Stillit took me to even remotely comprehend the huge mess the?interface" in RuneScape is. I had been thinking?how on Earth does a whole newcomer manage all of this? ".
After little over a week now, I have finished all quests, progressed more, and overall soon...relearning everything. While in the"new participant experience" stage a whole lot has changed, I turned off the activity tracker and just began doing my own thing and learned so much better than doing exactly what RuneScape suggests I do. This, and twitch chat has helped a great deal also. However, 99.9% of fresh players/long hiatus returning gamers are not likely to own all that. I think every way aspects are introduced have to be uninstalled. They do not need to change burthorpe...again. But perhaps something as straightforward as introducing them over and disabling some features time. Say you do enjoy demon slayer with"heritage" battle, then get abilities after.
So it will not throw you in using 20 abilities and also an introduction to boss mechanics all at once. Sure you could claim revolution is on by default, but that does not teach them the abilities or how it works together. If I had to find the tools for this, that would be great. Just like the network that is lodestone. However, the graduality of items being unlocked needs to be adjusted. I really don't currently have an answer, maybe after I leave the new player experience I will.
Thanks for responding! Additionally, love the movies you've got so far, it's always enjoyable for me to see osrs players providing rs3 a fair attempt. Your points are pretty strong, idk if I would begin players on legacy per se, but I feel legacy as a whole has to be eliminated, it only adds another layer of confusion to RuneScape, and was just introduced to ease the pain of skills, before revolution turned into a thing. It doesnt serve much purpose today, but that's just me. I am eagar to see how your opinion and understanding changes as RuneScape progresses, but youre definitely right on one stage. RuneScape's intro needs work.
