When players use review scores to take revenge on publishers as opposed to share feedback on a game, it reduces the worth of having user reviews in the first area and sets up an adversarial relationship between programmers and gamers. In the worst scenarios, it may pave the way for abuse, harassment, and even threats against programmers. It is simple enough to dismiss review bombings as a possible player, but the damage done behind the scenes could be much more serious.
