Obviously, the Diablo series is known for its narrative

According to Blizzard, the story of PC, Xbox Certainly, and PS4 Diablo 4 will probably be relatively ambitious. In fact, the developer compares it to the first chapter of a publication and claims that the series is telling a"big story" which Blizzard expects it will get to tell for a very long time. In other words, expect Blizzard to wager on story more and more as the Diablo series continues and brings back more and more characters.
"Diablo IV is like the first chapter of a book," said art director John Mueller while speaking to Ausgamer. "We want to tell a big story and we want to tell it, hopefully, for a very long time. Fixing this such as the first chapter of Lilith and a publication it feels great knowing that there are these other characters which could return later on. Or, new personalities that we have not seen previously."
Obviously, the Diablo series is known for its narrative. To put it differently, I wouldn't expect it to have an award-winning narrative anytime soon, but it sounds like Blizzard would like to payback lovers who stick with all the series installment with a narrative that will unfold over time. And considering that it's done this along with IP, that's not so surprising.
Diablo 4 is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In the present time of publishing, there's been no word of any additional ports, but presumably the game is coming into consoles too.
