Gemstones will be Maple story M Mesos the absolute worst aspect of the rng, the % chances are only ridiculous and the amount you can do them is demoralizingly minuscule, about 4 tries a week which will likely all neglect and everything you can do is just grind treva or guild coins for maybe 2-3 more tries in the event that you grind for the entire week nonstop that is only insane, socketing I think its largely fine except for the 500k meso fee on obtaining accessories which is just way too much in my own opinion.
It is a massive rng meso sink which will only drive you bankrupt because you're unlucky, the worst part is that gems are in fact necessary for raids outside cdev due to the absurd hp increase the supervisors obtained. When you shove fail after fail after neglect to your players they just get demoralized and quit, doesn't help there is literally no point in getting better equipment, no gratification for whatever you do, whatever you can do it only chat with friends, shame everyone is just asocial in this sport so nobody speaks, you never find an actual communal guild, they are all super try tough and very unfun, somebody I understand reached rank 1 in cdev clears for some time, got recruited in a try hard guild and that just made them stop. ?
Its funny, when I saw this announced and finally launching after teasing it for years, I was decided NOT TO PLAY. I associate Nexon games with safety and bot population. Every game I have played with bot counters that are inadequate and a horribly skewed exploitation variable. Yet still, I was horrified as somebody who'd done localization for MS1, and got dragged into the game anyway.
I rolled a Priest as my main and was instantly worried that level cap can be attained in one day, ruining the value and achievement feelings from being able to level up, then the devs say the time gates and RNG are to'make the game last longer' when they killed the very first thing that makes a game sustain players. After I struck Hard dungeons and was performing them on multiple characters, I discovered something else about about the RNG; most enchant rolls irrespective of course are elemental resistances, normally 0.03%, making it a junk stat. And I got two weeks of drops.
