Almost all of Runescape's updates go through player polls

It still has a terrible habit of suddenly slamming the wheels, and it is probably not a match for everyone--even by the standards of MMOs--but there's a reason almost 500,000 people required Old School Runescape's yield. It is still one of the very best and biggest sandbox MMOs around, and it has just gotten better with age.
To this end, one questline has been seen through to conclusion, some 13 years later initially gracing Gielinor.
The pirate-themed questline is, as you may expect, one of Runescape's longest running stories having launched in 2005. The ultimate branch, termed'Pieces of Hate' has gamers plundering to get loot, fighting zombie raiders, tussling with sea monsters, and updating the Book o'Piracy--a rum-powered tool that allows gamers teleport around the world.
"It is really astonishing to have reached the end of the pirates' tale after 13 decades, so we're thrilled that our players could experience the final occasions in Pieces of Hate," says lead designer Dave Osborne in a statement. "The team has worked hard to provide an exciting ending to the story, particularly to people waiting since 2005, and we can't wait to build on it within our narrative arcs for the subsequent five decades.
"The recent launch of deep fishing fishing has already enticed the best fishers from around Gielinor to go through the new activity hub; it's a terrific way to accelerate the skill and it is so rewarding to see our players concur ."
