The irony is that while gamers hated the'closing' armor revealed earlier this year, they adored the prototypes shown when the raid was announced. Initially, the Justicar armor was bulkier and part of a trio of armor sets, West informs me, but as the Theatre of Blood went from obscure concept to actual content, the armor shifted with it. Participants said there was enough DPS equipment but not enough tank equipment, so it was narrowed down to just one armor collection. And if they were only going to use one group, Jagex figured they might also make a new one based on the armor worn with the raid's huge bad.
"We thought changing it up a bit made sense," West says,"but players were not quite on board with the original proposal we shared stream. And , well, Reddit went crazy."
The memes came hard and quick. Others believed the new armor didn't seem tanky enough and liberally provided some alternatives, with some calling for a more drastic redesign.
It got so bad that some players began to seriously believe that a meme the updated armor was by a different artist, which the artist that left the prototypes had left Jagex. But something amazing happened. Even as memes blotted out sunlight, slowly but surely severe suggestions began to shine through. It started with primitive Photoshop jobs, but soon appropriate examples and fan art began to crop up. Players rallied around the idea of a milder, blessed armor set inspired by the Runescape god Saradomin, so that they moved back to West's prototype designs and made a few changes.more inпјљwww.mmogo.com
