It has been 15 years since Maplestory first introduced in Korea, along with the sequel has formally launched in the West with all the localized version of MapleStory 2--that the game was live in Korea because 2015. Using 3D gameplay and an overhauled economy, its long-time MMORPG franchise has been adapted by Nexon in that moment. The following interview was edited for readability and clarity.
Did you strategy MapleStory 2 together with the first audience in mind, or has been the approach to go this time around? I would not say we have a particular target audience for MapleStory 2. Obviously, we are going to reach out to all the older MapleStory fans, but since [the] match has been significantly grown from all of this content that is different, a lot of players really left. They feel like it is a MapleStory. Our strategy has been'let us examine the marketplace' to find out what sort of players really.
I think MapleStory 2 provides a wide variety of content. You can do practically anything in this game, if you're into housing, customization, etc.. MapleStory [original] obviously had it, but we finally offer more information. You can create your own costumes, make your own dungeons, which we also showcase with community events. So, I think any sort of participant, even when you're not particularly interested in Maple world, the sport may have a lot of fun and we saw that through [the] beta.
