After signing quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Minnesota Vikings introduced a big player to the defensive team.
The Vikings announced on Friday the signing of defensive forward Sheldon Richardson who played for the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Jets. The contract signed by both parties lasts for 1 year and is worth 8 million U.S. dollars. After the award, the maximum value can reach 11 million U.S. dollars www.facebook.com .
Richardson, who was selected as the 13th pick in the 2013 first-round draft, became the defensive player of the year in his rookie season, and was selected as the pro bowler in the second season. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented and most comprehensive defensive forwards in the league.
So why did he choose to sign a one-year contract?
In the past two seasons, Richardson's off-site news was more of a concern than his performance on the field, so he was not sought after by other teams as expected. In the past two seasons, he averaged only 1.25 kills and eight impact quarterbacks per season, and in 2014 and 2015 he averaged 6.5 kills and 18 impact quarterbacks per season.
Richardson will be the defensive interceptor Linval Joseph on the Vikings defensive front and professional bowler, lateral passers Linval Joseph and Daniel Hunter (Danielle) Hunter) partner. If coach Zimmer, who is good at defensive tactics, can excite Richardson's huge potential, the Vikings will have the league's most destructive defensive line.
